We have a great webinar coming up as part of our ORCAS in ACTION education series, supporting all of the ORCAS, retailers, and law enforcement out there with the ongoing battle with ORC across the country.  Fun Fact:  when Jac and I started ORCAS in ACTION in 2019 there were only 21 or so ORCAS – and we are now over 40! 

This is our Spring ORC March Madness special edition and we are talking violent gangs and counterfeit goods with support from:

• Eddy Dolan (recently retired from DHS) who is speaking on the South American ORC gangs building off of some recent content we put out on this – but expanding with an in-country perspective as Eddy was stationed in Central America for more than 14 years. We are looking at where they are coming from, the journey here – and even a bit on where things are with “their journey home”.  Eddy speaks from more than 17 years’ experience operating in Latin America leading DHS teams in counterterrorism, human smuggling and trafficking, biometric collections, drug smuggling, weapons and ammunition proliferation, money laundering, intellectual property rights, sex trafficking, and cultural artifacts smuggling interdiction operations and investigations.

• Alan Prejean, HSI currently assigned to the Border Enforcement Task Force, Southshore in New Orleans, Louisiana, Alan also served in the HSI Baton Rouge, Louisiana office working various investigations involving child exploitation, intellectual property rights, human trafficking/smuggling.  Alan has been knee-deep in counterfeit good activity with a few recent, significant cases, including one at the recent Super Bowl we will get into and dissect their success.

We also have ORCA updates with NEORCA talking about a huge ORC education symposium they have been putting together for law enforcement and DAs that is coming up in April – who they got involved, and some other big wins that could serve as a great model for other ORCAS, retailers, and LE in other regions as well.  Dave Johnston from NRF is joining us too talking ORC and the upcoming NRF PROTECT conference.   All-in-all we should have some great conversations – plus I’ve got some giveaways to…well… give away as well.   I hope you can join us!
